I am a Software Engineer living in Kansas with my wife and two children. I enjoy programming, video games, board games, poker, baseball, and playing with my children. I also like solving interesting problems (both in tech and out of tech).
This site is all about getting better a little at a time. The mystical 10x engineer doesn't exist - being 1.1x over a long enough period of time is good enough. I like to work smartly while it is working time, and put all that away after hours. I like working remotely from my basement, while still getting together with my teammates when I can.
I am pretty good with React and front-end in general, though there is always more to learn. I can sling some Python or Node or Java if needed, and have even worked in databases. Mostly, I like finding a good enough tool for the job and solving the problem.
